HMBASA
The Human Milk Banking Association of South Africa (HMBASA) is a non-profit organization
that co-ordinates and provides guidance for human milk banking centres throughout
South Africa. HMBASA seeks to reduce sickness and death and promote the well-being
of South African infants by reducing mortality and morbidity in critically ill or
premature infants, by providing human milk when direct breastfeeding is not possible
and by providing human milk to babies orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
